#demos//FAW.circle.demo.track

i’ve created a small demo track composed only of the new synth, Circle, from FAW. I’ll be posting a complete review about the synth as soon as they do an official release for it, but all i can say is that the sound quality is top notch, the interface is intuitive, and the people at FAW are astounding.

Circle main interface

i was lucky enough to get the opportunity to work with the FAW team and design some of the factory sounds being shipped with Circle. One of the features I was most impressed with was the sound preview: drag a little ball around the screen and hover about a mod slot to hear it’s effect in real time before you commit to any changes. how much easier than that can you get? no more drop down menus with 800 mod-source and mod-destinations. intuitive is spot on. well, here’s the new track i originally intended on posting in the first place.

schwa oligarc filter
as innovative plug-in developers, schwa have been creating some eyebrow-raising new plug-ins. not only that, but they’re also toying with some innovative ways of giving back. their new plug is called Oligarc Filter, which they are donating all proceeds to the alliance for climate protection. here’s a little excerpt from the kvr audio thread where it was released:

A sophisticated emulation of a classic analog ladder filter, complete with nonlinearity, instability, good looks, and danger.

Free to try out. We’re trying something new with the pricing: not keeping the money.

do yourselves a favor and take a look at their new plugs. they’ll prove to be a very unique and tasty additions to your audio arsenal.

previously i had a long-ish list of graphic, audio, and general multimedia design resource links posted here, but i’ve now decided to go the del.icio.us route and start an online link collection. seemed like the hip thing to do, and now the whole world can see my collection of stamp related web sites.

just.the.team

ok, i was perusing my way through the mire that is kvr audio and I found this. from the author’s website:

Back in the mid 80s when cocaine was pure and a man was judged on the size of his shoulder pads, a crack team of songwriters ruled the charts…

Roddy Stones and his team had nearly every top ten hit for over a decade [...] But the 90s came and went and they soon hit hard times.

This is their story. This is The Hit Squad

this looks interesting. as the creator describes, this is “a cartoon sitcom based around 4 washed up 80s music producers trying to regain their fame, fortune and Jack Daniels sponsorship.”

hmm…jack daniels sponsorship? you can get sponsorship from jack daniels??? why hasn’t anyone told me this before?
