#projects//banterbury.tales.reviews

Well, I’ve found the first 2 reviews for ‘Banterbury Tales’, which finished up at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland last Sunday. I wasn’t sure quite what to expect, but the show got 4 stars! Great job by YTC and friends, it was an awesome experience which I’d be glad to produce again next summer. Anyways, one of the reviews was from an actual reviewer, and the other was by a performance-goer. Here’s a portion of the review article:

Banterbury Tales is not strictly theatre- most of the sketches would stand up alone, and some of the exchanges would work well in cabaret or burlesque. Their sheer force of will moves the show along at a steady pace, and the refusal of cheap audience participation gives them a harsh determination. The poetry itself is powerful and imaginative, working at the boundaries between the beat and the beat-box. There is something interesting happening in this meeting of media.

This passage was taken directly from the actual review, which appears in the british theatre guide. there was also another review from a patron on the ED Fringe official site. Again, great job from the people at YTC!

#remixes//rekkerd.remix.entry

Well, I’ve been lucky enough to squeeze a few hours a night into producing an entry for Rekkerd.Org’s sample remix competition. The other entries are really insanely good, so it should be a great time. Head on over to the contest page and check the entries out, there’s sure to be something that you’d like in there. The prize for the winner is the Ohm Force All-All bundle, which includes all of Ohm Force’ insane plugs. Prize or not though, it’s great to see so many people get together and create some great tracks, as well as get to be involved in something that’s so much fun. Good luck everyone!

#off.topic//remember.the.milk

Just found this great new online/offline organizer thingy. It’s really useful for a load of applications, and it’s free! It’s called Remember The Milk and it’s got really everything you need to keep organized - and then some. Now, I’m not associated with this place at all, but I found it quite intriguing that there’s so much you can do compared with some other online/offline organizer services, and you can extend it greatly with various applications (mostly from Google). I use Opera personally, but most of the applications actually require Firefox to be installed. Check it out, if for nothing other than the functionality.

If you hadn’t noticed, I’m not a fan of Google at all. Google pretty much supports the murder of innocent Tibetans and china’s lack of respect to human life.
