ericsound plug-ins has just released 2 new plug-ins in VST format, each of which happens to be an EQ. First, there’s the FreeeQ V1.3, and then the UniQ v1.0 which is a more advanced version of the former. I’m not going to review them quite yet as i haven’t even installed them in the studio, but over the next few days i’ll play with them and give a detailed report. as for cost, well, the FreeeQ is free as you may have guessed. the UniQ however is commercial software, but he’s adopting the ever popular ‘pay-what-you-want’ idea. here’s a few screenshots before i’m outta here:

i’ve updated the filterscape VA propack to 1.2 which includes a set of ‘dance plucks’ to the bank. the set is made up of short decay pluck/stab type sounds made for dance music production. they obviously can be used in any type of production, but i created these in a demo set @ 140 BPM with a 4-on-the-floor trance drumline and some very fast paced melody/bass combination patterns. total sounds in the set right now are 112, with one more pack to be released this week to make the total 128 sounds. i’ll leave the set @ 128 sounds for right now until u-he updates the filterscape set. until then, download and have fun.

i’ve created a demo mix for audjoo’s helix VSTi synthesizer plug-in, and i’m just not sure if it’s trance, dance, elektro, or what. you can have a listen for yourself if you’d like:

helix is a nasty synth with some crazy features. it’s probably one of the most full featured synthesizer plugs out there with very high sound quality and huge flexibility - and the CPU is negligible…

no, it’s not a new song i’m working on. i’ve just signed onto twitter, the web-based tracker that allows you to inform people on what you’re currently up to. i didn’t think it would be of any use to me really, but now i can just refer everyone to my website when they need to find out what’s up. sweet. i’ll be posting my current projects and actions in the twitter thingy, so if i’m supposed to be doing something for you, take a look on my sidebar and you can see if i’ve started.

i’ve got 2 feed subscribers right now. 2 out of around 400 people a day that come here. that’s a very odd stat. most the people that stop by are first time visitors, probably just looking for some music resources and happened to drop into my site. you would figure that i’d have more regulars and not so many first timers, eh? oh well, welcome to my site anyways.
