TeamDNR, a project that I’ve been involved with for quite some time, has finally opened a new website which will have a variety of commercial soundsets to purchase. TeamDNR is also very involved in graphic design, mix engineering, remixing and performance art. Visit the new website for more details..

Also, TeamDNR has just released 2 new soundsets for Helix, the new hybrid synthesizer from Audjoo Software. Here’s an excerpt from the release:

Elektro Keys is a new soundset for Audjoo Helix which focuses on keyboard/piano type sounds. This set contains 32 professionally designed sounds ranging from soft keyboards to modulation filled elektro coolness.

Rhythmic Passages includes 32 professionally designed rhythmic sounds suited for electro, techno, trance, house and other types of electronic music. Each preset has a variety of velocity, modwheel, pitchbend, or aftertouch programmed to useful controls providing more expression in your music.

#releases//NUSofting.Gaming Atmosphere

October 9th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in new releases

If you’ve been following along, you’d have known that I’ve been doing a little project with NUSofting called Gaming Atmosphere. It’s a collection of loops, samples, custom instruments/FX, macros, and other content which is arranged and preseted to you in the form of a group of Ableton workspaces (.als). The concept is essentially a creative-rut-getter-outter. If you’re feeling blah and you keep writing the same freaking melodies and basslines, open one of the included workspaces and start screwing around. Each workspace has a theme that it tries to stick to, but we still tried to provide smart enough FX chains to be able to quickly change your sounds and fit well with a multitude of styles.

Check out the Gaming Atmosphere website HERE.

#demos//NUSofting.collaboration

September 25th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in demo mixes, new releases

Time for another round of demo sounds. This time it’s for a new project I’ve been working on with NUSofting, makers of a wide variety of very high quality VST/VSTi plug-ins. It’s a brand new concept, stemmed from the fact that Ableton’s Live Pack format is closed to Ableton ‘partners’ only. The project ended up much more than a live pack though. Here’s an excerpt from the quickstart guide:

NUSofting Live Packs are collections of external sounds and presets for the native Ableton devices that are intended to provide key elements of sound, structure and function. These elements can be combined, deconstructed or edited in unlimited ways allowing for instant inspiration and creativity. Taking advantage of the many Live features, various techniques are used in the creation of these sets so that users may become familiar with them. Whether they be common knowledge tricks or little known secrets, these techniques can be essential to an efficient Ableton workflow.

The main idea behind ‘compositional workspaces’ is simple: give users an easy way to break free from a creative dry spell and improve their Ableton workflow at the same time. Just drop the included project folder into your current Ableton projects and open the workspaces whenever you need a quick idea. The included content (clips, chains, etc) can be easily saved to the Ableton Library by drag and drop for use in other projects.
I’ll leave you with a demo track I put together (out of 4) using only the included workspaces and the clips provided. The project should be released shortly, and I’ll have more info when the time comes.
